USPS Projects a 7.7% Price Increase in July 2024

On January 23, Sharon Owens, Postal Service Vice President, Pricing and Costing, told MTAC attendees they can expect to see a 1.5% CPI-based increase as part of the July 2024 price changes, as well as a 4.3% “density adder” and a 1.8% increase in retirement authority. The density adder is calculated on the basis of mail volume decline per delivery point. The total price increase project for July is 7.7%, subject to Board of Governors (BOG) approval.
