Charlene Dufresne-Achatz
Chief Executive Officer

Charlene is a seasoned executive with over two decades of experience in the logistics and sales industry. She began her career in 1996 at Trans-ADVO, where she excelled in a customer service role. Her dynamic skills quickly propelled her into a sales position in 1997.

Following the acquisition of Trans-ADVO by JAMCO in the late 1990s, Charlene briefly continued her career at JAMCO until the company’s eventual closure. In 1998, she joined Mystic Logistics as a sales representative, specializing in drop ship services for letter shops and mail houses across the United States.

Charlene’s remarkable talent in sales and leadership led to her appointment as Vice President of Sales in 2005, where she successfully grew a team of representatives and agents. Her dedication and strategic vision culminated in her promotion to President in 2010, where she took the reins of daily operations at Mystic Logistics.

In 2014, under Charlene’s leadership, Mystic Logistics secured both equity and debt financing through Main Street Capital Corp, enabling her team to acquire the previous owners completely. Since then, she has continued to drive the company forward, solidifying its presence in the logistics sector and ensuring its growth and sustainability.

Charlene is recognized for her unwavering commitment to excellence and her ability to foster strong relationships with clients and partners, making her a respected leader in the industry.

Bill joined Mystic in 1998 with over 20 years of diverse experience in financial management, including business, systems and financial planning. He also has extensive experience in development, financial reporting, capital and debt financing, internal control evaluation and construction project development.

Bill is responsible for development, formalization and management of the overall financial controls for Mystic operations. Currently, definition of management practices, policy, procedures and cost containment structures are his primary focus. Bill has also held various executive and management positions with Resorts International, Inc., Mirage, Inc. and Philadelphia National Bank. 

Bill is a CPA and a graduate of Rutgers University.

Shaun J. Nicholson
Vice President

Shaun Nicholson joined Mystic Logistics in 2008 as a software developer and quickly became instrumental in shaping the company’s technology and operations. Over the years, he has designed and developed many of Mystic’s core systems — including its best-in-class warehouse scanning and inventory management platform, routing and load-planning applications, GPS tracking tools, warehouse mapping systems, automated reporting and notification tools, and numerous client integration solutions.

As Vice President, Shaun’s focus has expanded beyond development to include continuous process improvement, sales and client engagement, pricing and rate-card strategy, cost monitoring, and quarterly business reviews. His unique blend of technical expertise and operational insight allows him to bridge technology and business strategy, driving efficiency, transparency, and innovation across Mystic’s nationwide logistics network.

Rocco joined Mystic Logistics in 2009 with 30 years of distribution, process improvement and management experience. Other expertise includes facility and property management, warehouse layout and human resources.

Prior to Mystic, Rocco held executive positions in distribution and processing. Rocco is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of all aspects of Mystic’s high volume distribution center. Responsibilities include ensuring customer expectations are met, recruitment, and continuous process improvements.

Rocco is a graduate of Widener University with continuing education from Villanova.

Donald L. Labarre III
Chief Operating Officer

For nearly two decades, Donald LaBarre has been the driving force behind Mystic Logistics’ technology infrastructure and innovation. With more than 18 years at the company, Donald oversees all aspects of IT operations — including systems architecture, software development, network and phone systems, cybersecurity, integrations, firewalls, servers, and cloud platforms.

Donald’s leadership ensures that Mystic’s technology ecosystem remains secure, reliable, and scalable to support the company’s continued growth. His hands-on approach and deep technical expertise have guided Mystic through multiple generations of systems modernization, keeping the organization at the forefront of logistics technology.

Though officially serving as Chief Operating Officer, Donald’s role encompasses that of Chief Information Officer — responsible for aligning technology strategy with operational excellence across the entire enterprise.

Danielle joined the Customer Service team at Mystic Logistics in 2008.  In 2016, she began overseeing the customer service department where she provides support to Mystic’s internal and external customers.
Danielle’s understanding of Mystic’s internal systems, procedures and Postal policies guarantees reliable customer support and continuous process improvements. 

Danielle has over 25 years of experience in client services and attended Central Connecticut State University.

Marc Achatz
Routing Manager

Marc started with Mystic as a Routing Analyst, in 1993.  The business was primarily newspaper inserts and miscellaneous dry commodities. Working his way up to Routing Manager. 

As the industry shifted to targeted advertising and postal drop shipping, Mystic created a dropship program, taking advantage of this new industry.
As mailers quickly began to utilize postal drop-shipping, Marc was instrumental in securing one of Mystic’s first major clients, Columbia House.

Mystic started with consolidating mail to just 29 BMC locations, rapidly expanding into consolidating and delivery to over 200 postal destinations. Marc currently manages load building of our entire inventory, creating up to 200+ truckloads per week.

Michele joined Mystic in 2000 in the finance department. Since then, has worked her way through all facets of the accounting department and has assisted with streamlining processes to improve workflow. 

In 2013, Michele was promoted to controller where she oversees the daily operations of the accounting department and oversees Human Resources and payroll processing for Mystic.

Michele’s current and prior experience includes a background of auditing and customer service.

David began his career with Mystic in 1996 while amassing 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. With exceptional business practices he is serves as a logistics expert providing transport solutions, delivery excellence, and customer satisfaction. His operations teams manage Client Services, Carrier Procurement & Relations, as well as Freight Management. Pivotal in development and deployment of new innovative transport software, enhancing productivity, and providing a more robust & efficient experience.

Dave is a graduate of Elmira College in Elmira, NY with a degree in Psychology. In his time away from the office, Dave enjoys family, friends, and playing golf.
